Marion M. Micke, Associate Professor in Health Education, earned her doctoral degree at the University of Oregon and has been at Illinois State since 1991. Her effectiveness as a teaching professor and her broad professional preparation have allowed Micke to teach 13 different courses in the Health Education Program. She consistently teaches Drugs in Society, Concepts in Health Education and Health Aspects of Aging. The focus of her research efforts involves using recent findings in brain research to develop more effective teaching approaches. Micke is currently engaged in designing approaches to develop, encourage and reinforce professional behavior, including a desire to develop content competence.
