The RHIT-HIM Online Sequence requires 31 credit hours of health information course work. A new student cohort begins each Fall Semester.

HSC 326: HealthCare Financial Management and Reimbursement Systems (6 credit hours) Overview: Analysis and application of financial management principles and theories combined with the analyses and application of reimbursement processes currently used in healthcare. Prerequisite: Admission to the RHIT-HIM Online Sequence and a current RHIT certification. |

HSC 327: HealthCare Quality Management, Law, and Risk Management (6 credit hours) Overview: Analysis and application of principles and theories concerning United States healthcare quality management, law, and risk management. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in HSC 326 and current RHIT certification. |

HSC 328: Planning, Implementation and Management of Health Information Systems (6 credit hours) Overview: Addresses the Health Information Manager’s role and responsibilities in planning, implementing, and managing health information systems to manage health data. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in HSC 326 and HSC 327, and current RHIT certification. |

HSC 329: Management for the Health Information Administrator (5 credit hours) Overview: Organization and management of personnel and processes by health information administrators. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in HSC 326, HSC 327, and HSC 328, and current RHIT certification. |

HSC 330: Health Data Analysis for Decision Making (5 credit hours) Overview: Collect, analyze, and report clinical data to address administrative problems and issues. Prerequisite: A grade of C or better in HSC 326, HSC 327, HSC 328, and HSC 329, and a current RHIT certification.
HSC 398.03: Professional Practice: Management Internship (3 credit hours) Overview: Application of advanced Health Information Management skills in a health-related setting geared towards the career interests of the students. Prerequisites: Minimum of grade of C in all major courses and consent of program director. Evidence of health insurance and professional liability insurance required. |
