Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG)

Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG) Omega Chapter is the student chapter of the National Professional Health Education Honorary.

ESG is a student honorary chapter and Illinois State student organization that provides opportunities for Health Education and interested Illinois State students to:

  • coordinate and operate a professional organization
  • develop leadership skills
  • provide teaching, research and service in the area of Health education
  • meet Health Education professionals/graduates and Health Education students

Students learn networking skills on professional and social levels while learning about potential careers in the Health Education profession.

Each year, ESG conducts a research project on a health related issue. In past years, the student chapter has studied mental illness, binge drinking and "club" drugs. From the gathered research, fact sheets or presentations are developed and shared with fellow students. The club also hosts an annual banquet for all graduating Health Education seniors in the fall semester.

ESG is open to all qualified health education majors and interested ISU students.
