Six Paths to a Clinical Laboratory Science Degree

There are six different paths to getting a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLT).

New Freshman Student

As a freshman student, you can complete a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science in four years with proper advising from our Department Academic Advisor.

Changing Your Major

You must talk to the Department Academic Advisor  who can change your major and advise you on the appropriate prerequisite and major courses required. Providing you have completed your general education courses and have completed the appropriate prerequisite courses, you can complete your CLT degree in as little as two years.

College/University Transfer Student

As a transfer student from a community college or another university, you must meet with the Department Academic Advisor  to guide you through the university admitting process. The advisor will also assist you with developing a plan of study that will include all the required prerequisite courses and major courses. Providing you have completed your general education courses and prerequisite courses, you can complete your degree in as little as two years.  The University Transfer Link is a valuable resource to help guide you through the process.

Community College Associates Degree

As a community college graduate with an associate's degree in the science or the arts, you must meet with the Department Academic Advisor to guide you through the university admitting process. The advisor will also assist you with developing a plan of study that will include all the required prerequisite courses and major courses. Providing you have completed your prerequisite courses, you can complete your degree in as little as two years.  The University Transfer Link can help answer your questions as well.

Second Bachelor Degree Student

As a student seeking a second bachelor's degree, you must meet with the Department Academic Advisor  to guide you in the process of getting admitted to the university. The advisor will also assist you with developing a course of study that will include all prerequisite courses as well as major courses required. You can complete the degree in two years providing that you have the appropriate prerequisite course work completed.

Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT)

A certified MLT's or CLT's with an associates of applied science (AAS) degree may qualify for our bridge program. You must meet with the Department Academic Advisor to determine if you qualify and to guide you through the university admitting process. The advisor will also assist you with developing a plan of study that will include all the required prerequisite courses and major courses so you can complete your bachelor's degree in as little as two years.
