On October 6, the Student Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) held their meeting. Safety Program faculty Dr. Lezah Brown and Paul Ronczkowski attended along with approximately 20 students. The guest speaker was Ms. Laura Denos, alum of the Environmental Health and Safety Graduate Program.
The Student Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) had their annual coffee tent along the parade route for ISU's 2009 Homecoming on October 17. Many alumni and friends of the Department of Health Sciences stopped by.
On October 22, Environmental Health faculty Dr. George Byrns & Dr. Thomas Fuller and Safety faculty Dr. Lezah Brown, and 5 Environemntal Health students attended a dinner meeting of the Prairie Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Brian Bothast, an industrial hygienist from the Peoria OSHA office and ISU alum gave a presentation on occupational health record keeping requirements.
